San Diego comic-con, one of the world’s largest comic-cons, opened for four days on July 21. The event attracted fans of games, anime and movies. The cosplayers also spread their cosplay love and ideas and played their favorite roles.
How cute they are! They just like “The Incredibles”. Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack. Where is Frozone?
Oh my god! One moment, I thought the real Iron Man was here. The costumes and makeup were so amazing that he could mix the real with the imaginary. I can’t believe that he made the costumes by himself.
Doctor Strange. Although this coser’s costume was not the best and his appearance was nothing like Benedict Cumberbatch, his confidence was perfect.
Have you attended this comic-con? If you haven’t, you mustn’t miss it tomorrow. San Diego comic-con is cosplay’s heaven. Why does San Diego comic-con attract so many fans from around the world every year? Although it includes amazing various exhibitions, it also has a very special activity, the blood drive. It may sound strange to call on people to donate blood at an comic-con, but San Diego comic-con has maintained this tradition for more than 30 years.
When it comes to the origins of the blood drive, we need to go back to the 1970s. The famous novelist, Robert A. Heinlein, had a life-threatening disease that required many rare blood types for his survival. After benefiting from the blood drive, he felt indebted to the donors. When Robert A. Heinlein was invited to the World Con, he told the organizers that he could come, but he made the strange request to sign only blood donors. Organizers of the San Diego comic-con invited him to their show and agreed to cooperate with his blood drive.
The blood drive at the San Diego comic-con has saved 2,200 lives over the past 33 years, according to one count. If you have a chance to go to there, the blood drive is a good choice.
Do you know what? The actors of “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” were featured at the San Diego comic-con. Johnny Depp appeared in character as Gellert Grindelwald at Warner Bros. It was so exciting to know that.
The most special thing was that Ezra Miller, who played a role of dark wizard Credence Barebone, cosplyed pink super Mary mushroom sister, which attracted many people’s attention. Even when he was interviewed backstage, he still wore the big mushrooms on his head and white stockings on his legs. What an amazing person!
I really regret not being there. I love “Fantastic Beasts” very much. Can’t wait to watch the movie. However, it won’t open until November 16. Time goes really slow.
Do you love the San Diego comic-con? Every time, I feel I have found my dream at the San Diego comic-con. I think the coolest thing is that anime breaks through language, culture and all the other barriers. If you feel like you don’t have a sense of belonging in your hometown, and your favorite otaku culture is not understood, then you will find that everyone understands you and everyone has the same interest and passion there. Love anime, love cosplay, love my life.
